FLASHY BIZ ran in the third race at Keeneland today, and finished 3rd in the $20,000 claiming event. While we never love to have one claimed, "Flashy" had been in the non winners of 2 condition for a 10 starts, after taking 12 starts to break her maiden. She has always been an honest horse, firing a solid effort most of the time. But in the last few starts, she didn't quite have the same finishing move she used to have. So, we will look to the future to a new opportunity.

Not on My Watch - Entered Sunday, 10/31
NOT ON MY WATCH is entered at Laurel Park again this Sunday, going in the seventh race, a non winners of 1x Allowance Race. It's a very encouraging sign to me that they are going back in an allowance race after the poor performance in the last, and it also indicates that they think it was just a case of her not liking the turf, as this race is back on the dirt.
Entries HERE , and it is scheduled to go off about 2:24 PM Central Time.
Family and Cres Ran Updates
TREATY , pictured above as a baby, is gearing up for his first start, and had a solid breeze from the gate this week. The 1/2 brother to Tiz Miz Sue, Bulletin and Newscaster, got the 4f in 48:00 flat, and caught a fellow gate worker of a very prominent trainer, which is always nice to see. Projected to run somewhere in the November 15th to 20th range, give or take.
TIZ SPLENDID NEWS (above) had her first work back in sometime at Keeneland this week, also going 4f in 48:00. It was her first work since her races in April, and it's nice to see her back. As a reminder, this filly is by Maclean's Music and out of Tiz News, a full sister to Sassy Miss Sue, making this stakes placed filly bred on the exact same cross from the exact same family as SHEZAPISTOL
Finally, GOODY TWO SIOUX is entered at Remington Park again, going in the first race next Friday, November 5th. Staying in the claiming ranks, she again sprints and will be one of the top choices.
On some other family notes at the racetrack, there has been some new workers, and some horses taking a break:
-NEWSCASTER is being turned out for a bit as the grass course at Remington is pretty used up, and I think he needs a freshening. He will aim to return to the races in the early Spring in Houston.
- SINNIN N GRINNIN is getting closer to her first official work at Remington, as she has several works up to two furlongs under her belt.
- TIZ LIFE is back on the track after some extensive time off to get a few bumps and bruises, including his feet heeled up.
- JUST PUSH SEND is a new name to add to your watch list. This daughter of Kantharos , the same sire as Sinnin N Grinnin, is out of Made Me Shiver, a full sister to the above mentioned Tiz Splendid News. She has a few works at Remington Park for Steve Assmussen.
Sales Updates
The Fasig Tipton October Sale was this past week in Lexington, and we had some action on the buying and selling side.
For Cres Ran, we had two horses entered in the sale, but ended up only putting one through the ring, and had to wait to sell her privately a day or so later.
Above is Hip 377 is a half sister to SHEZAPISTOL by the sire Goldencents. Lacking the same physical presence of her sister, she still checked some boxes and was a little surprised at the slow action. I was able to sell her privately to my friend April Mayberry and her team, and I couldn't ask her to be in better hands. Widely regarded as one of the best breakers and trainers of young horses, the filly will get every opportunity.
We also had good trade on the buying end, getting some colts for various clients. We were able to purchase colts by Mor Spirit, Liam's Map, Outwork and Cairo Prince. One of our friends and clients who came to the sale caught a good photo of one of her new acquisitions below :
Finally, a reminder that the Breeders' Cup is next weekend at Del Mar. I'll be back next week with my picks and some pedigree insights as best I'm able! Have a great weekend!
