TIZ LIFE settling in at Remington Park
RACE RESULTS WEEKEND OF JULY 23RD AND 24TH
RISING EMPIRE - Rising Empire ran at Saratoga on July 23rd , and ran the worst race of his career. Equipped with Blinkers, we expected him to be closer to the pace. Unfortunately, he missed the break and the rider made the choice to take him back to the rear of the field. From there, frankly, EMPIRE didn't do much of anything. He just kind of went around and followed the field. We know there is a lot more there, and not sure what is going on with him not breaking well.

SOUPER SENSATIONAL - Souper Sensational ran in the Grade 3 Caress Stakes on July 23rd, going 5.5f on the Turf. She ran a great race and was flying at them at the end, finishing second and just missing the win by a head.

SURFER DUDE - JULY 31ST
SURFER DUDE was entered in two stakes races over the weekend, with the connections wanting to look at the one they felt was the best fit. They chose to run him in the Grade 2 Amsterdam at Saratoga, which featured GUNITE (Grade 1 winning 2yo), PINEHURST (winner of the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity and the Grade 3 Saudi Derby) and CORNICHE (Winner of the Grade 1 Breeders Cup Juvenile). With that being the case, I still think it was the right choice as the other race, the $100,000 Overnight Stake at Colonial was almost as tough, and the benefits of winning a Grade 2 at Saratoga are far greater than just a regular overnight stake, especially considering Surfer Dude is already stakes placed.
Anyway, Surfer Dude has always been forwardly placed in his races, and he broke well and was near the lead like usual. However, as the field began to push for the lead, Jose Ortiz took Surfer Dude all the way back to last, which the horse fought for a bit before settling. Then, when it came time to run, he angled him to the inside, but the horse had too much to do and frankly didn't make much of a move. Was a very curious ride by one of the best in the business to say the least.

GHOST BAYOU - ENTERED ON 8/6 - ELLIS PARK
GHOST BAYOU is entered in the 2nd race on August 6th, a Maiden Special Weight going 5.5 furlongs on the turf at Ellis Park. Our original plan was to go back a mile on the turf, but after looking at her work a few times, we chose to try this turf sprint first, and see what happens. She drew the rail, which is less than ideal, but the plan will be to let her break, and most likely take back a bit, then make a run at them.

OTHER UPDATES
SHEZAPISTOL - We will enter "PISTOL" in the coming days for a race on August 10th at Indiana. She is doing well, and we are excited for the next one.
TREATY - The plan was to enter TREATY for a race on the 5th at Ellis, but he came up a little off on Saturday morning, so we are taking a look at him to make sure it's nothing serious. We are optimistic will just be some time off and go on.
TIZ LIFE - TIZ LIFE has settled in at Remington Park, and had a local breeze on Saturday morning, going a half mile. Was just a nice slow maintenance work, as he is fit and we want him ready to go a route when his time comes in a few weeks.
The rest of the Cres Ran stable has settled in to Remington Park and Churchill Downs and are prepping for the next steps. We should have some entries in August for most of the stable.
